Of the 60 anglers fishing Andy drew peg 7 on Bridge Pool and started the match at 5 metres feeding 2mm Carp Pellets and fishing a 4mm Pro Expander Pellet on the hook. Three feeds and 30 minutes later he finally had his first F1 quickly followed by another. With no more bites forthcoming on that line he moved to 11 metres in front of him, again on pellets and had a quick F1 then nothing. He then picked up his dobbing rig and went up and down the far bank but couldn’t locate any fish, so came off that line.
Andy then started a few new pellet lines in 4ft of water across and spent the next hour rotating each swim at 11 metres for a few roach and one more F1. With only two hours left of the match and only four F1s in his net, he started another pellet line to his right at 13 metres just up the shelf. And after 10 minutes he had an F1 and then continued to catch F1s off the same line until the end of the match, to finish with his winning net of 33 F1s to weigh 59lbs for a vital section win and his match win.
In the four rounds Andy has fished so far, he has had some great results; 5th in section, 4th in section, 2nd in section and Sunday’s section win. This leaves him joint 2nd in the league on 12 points, and with only 11 points winning it so far he will be working hard with just two more rounds remaining.
