Krištof Cuderman’s Greatest Ever Carp Trip

When globe-trotting carper Krištof Cuderman embarked on a fishing trip to Bosnia’s Lake Pelagičevo, he had no idea he was about to enjoy the session of a lifetime. He and his friends landed no fewer than 81 carp during the stay but it was Krištof who’d ended up stealing the headlines with the capture of arguably the largest fish in the lake. Read Krištof’s overview and reaction to his incredible session in his diary entry below…

My Best Fishing Trip Ever.

I decided to start my fishing season this year on one my favourite lakes: Lake Pelagičevo in Bosnia. I organized two trips for my group and needless to say we all had a great time there with some truly extraordinary results.

All in all I fished for 16 days in total and for the last 6 days my good friend Claudia Darga joined me.

I’ve never fished in such crazy weather conditions before… The first two days were 24 degrees, then we had 4 days with a maximum of 7 degrees and the final few days were again sunny with 20 degrees registering on average. The water temperature went from 14 to 9 and again from 9 to 14 on the last day, so I was really surprised that the carp were active despite the fluctuations.

In total we caught 81 carp of which 27 were over 20 kg (44lb), and 12 of those were over 25kg (55lb). Claudia also caught her PB with a 29.1kg (64lb) mirror and I caught a lake record mirror weighing 34.2kg (75lb)…

As you can guess it was a really amazing trip and the best fishing I’ve enjoyed in my lifetime!

All fish fell to a combination of Dynamite Squid & Octopus boilies and Sweet Tiger & Corn boilies. Most of the fish we caught using Snowman Rigs with 20mm bottom baits and 15mm pop ups. We fed a mixture of matching 15mm and 20mm boilies, alongside Shrimp & Krill pellets, Meat Furter pellets from the Big Fish River Range and 6mm Marine Halibut pellets.
