Trade Marketing & Events Coordinator

 Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and organised person to coordinate the trade marketing activities of the Rapala VMC group of brands in the UK.

The key areas of the role include working alongside the Marketing Manager to formulate and action the trade marketing strategy and campaigns, budget management, catalogue creation and production, B2B site maintenance, digital communications, retailer partnership relationship management and communication, sales support and event coordination.

This is primarily an office-based role, but hybrid/home working will be considered. Some flexibility will be required to visit or work from alternative sites e.g. retailers, trade and retail events etc. As part of the marketing team, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager whilst also regularly liaising with the sales team. You will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Trade Marketing Strategies

  • Research, create, action and measure trade marketing strategies to deliver increased product/brand awareness and ultimately sales
  • Oversee and maintain the sales and marketing calendar

Trade Marketing Communications

  • Trade catalogue concept, planning, budgeting, creation and production
  • Market and maintain our B2B sites
  • Direct email marketing – campaign concept, creation and communication
  • Trade social media marketing content creation and posting
  • Collaborate with all relevant departments to ensure the successful launch of new products
  • Promotional offers communication – concept, creation and communication
  • Order forms – concept, creation and communication
  • Database management

Trade Partnership Coordination

  • Retailer website support
  • Coordinate, budget, create and implement high impact POS and merchandising
  • Liaise with our trade partners to form long term symbiotic relationships

Sales Support

  • Work with the sales teams to provide marketing materials and data insights
  • Plan and maintain the layout of the showroom
  • Coordinate and budget showroom samples and POS

Trade Marketing Budget Management

  • Trade marketing budget planning and spend implementation management
  • Track trade marketing ROI and use insights to optimise future spend

Events Coordination

  • Event calendar maintenance
  • Event stands, equipment, POS and merchandise management
  • Plan, budget, coordinate and execute all trade and consumer events
  • Post event performance evaluation

Knowledge, Skills & Attitude required:

  • Adept at creating high impact trade marketing campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • A high level of ability in writing and proofreading creative copy
  • Knowledge and experience of print format marketing (catalogues, fliers etc)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Indesign would be advantageous, but not essential
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • A good understanding of angling techniques and disciplines is essential
  • Great interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with our retailers
  • Proactive, highly motivated, flexible and a team player
  • Highly organised and with an attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment

Key Information:

  • Expected start date: 2nd January 2026
  • Salary: On application – dependent on experience
  • Working Hours: 42 hours/week, with flexibility required to allow for business needs
  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: Cotgrave office / external locations as required / potential home working
